DARKLIGHT STUDIO, INC. was founded in 2000 by artist/developer Brian Gilbert. As an artist, Brian gained recognition as early as the age of 5. At the age of 17 he received
a Congressional Art Award where the awarded work was displayed in the U.S. Capitol building in Washington D.C. for a year.
Brian's experience with computers began almost as early with private training beginning at the age of 10. A natural desire to combine the two began as soon as graphic technology matured. His early experiments in 2D digital painting and 3D rendering started long before it was commonplace. After exhausting all computer related art courses available during college, he was again granted independent research access at the Beckman Institute and NCSA (National Center for Supercomputing Applications) at the University of Illinois. In that capacity Brian also contributed to various experimental user interface projects as well as providing multimedia development training to various university departments and staff
